You often don’t have the luxury (or pitfall depending on your personal experience) of knowing that a giant publicly traded company is behind you. It may just be a guy in a pickup truck with a cellphone who builds for whoever calls him, or it could be a well oiled, fully integrated machine with administration, purchasing, field management, design, and service in house.
